Through a public-private partnership known as the Keiki Care Plan, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Hawaii offers healthcare coverage to uninsured children with no monthly premium charge to the member’s family.  The Plan shares the cost of premiums with the state and provides eligible children with a basic package of benefits mirroring The Children’s Plan, which is available to Hawaiian youth up to age 18.  The Keiki Care Plan is a three-year pilot program targeting children whose families are unable to afford health insurance and may otherwise go without needed medical care.
