Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas's Healthy Blue product, which launched in January 2009, covers preventive services that are designed to provide members with a strategy for maintaining good health.  A combination of several fully covered medical services and fully covered preventive radiology and lab services serve as the cornerstone of this affordable plan. With Healthy Blue, the focus is clearly on encouraging preventive care and health improvement.  Early detection through preventive screenings is a key part of Healthy Blue's approach to healthcare.  From routine OB-GYN exams to heart disease prevention, screenings for many diseases and disorders are paid at 100 percent.  Healthy Blue also includes prescription drug coverage - with generics available for only a $5 co-pay - and offers a $250,000 lifetime maximum for each covered person.
